Our Christmas Tree

Cutting Down our own Christmas Tree
So we thought... "what a warm family memory this would be and how fun!"
Well, it certainly was a family memory!!
The tree farm was actually a "former" tree farm that the previous owners started and then promptly gave up on. It has been left for the last 13 years, on it's own! As you can tell from the photos, these trees were literally growing on top of each other. It was very difficult to get a good look at them.
Finally I saw this one. It looked good, or maybe it was just the only one I could really get a good look at since it was right in the front!!!
Anyway once we got it home and set in the standing, it was obvious that this one of the most hideos trees of all time! Yes it was large! About 12 ft. tall, but it was also very WIDE ( about 6 feet) and it covered up the fire place! But it also had huge gaps between branches. Worst of all- the trunk has scoliosis!!!! You can see in this first picture just how tall it is. Greg is about 6'1 1/2".
And we're cutting...And we're done!!! That took all of 15 seconds!Naked Tree Here is where you can see the scoliosis- follow the trunk up the tree starting at the bottom!
And here, fully decorated you can really see the gaps bertween branches.

But .... hey.... it was FREE!!!!!
