NYC
Day 3 Part 1
7.7.09
Central Park and the American Natural History Museum
Central Park
The glacial rocks were absolutely incredible pieces of history and landscape!! And of course the boys loved to climb on them!
One of the many bridge tunnels in Central Park.
The Central Park Zoo
What a wonderful and surprising treat!!! It is so amazing to me that this little zoo exists within the middle of a park! It is sooo well done!!! This sea lion aquarium is right in the center when you enter and they have shows every hour.
This peguin was sitting on a nest. It was so cute! A docent told us that the penguins in this group all take turns sitting on the nest!
These Polar Bears were so cute and their enclosure was incredible for viewing! They had viewing stations almost all the way around and at different heights. So youcould actually see thie male polar bear swim underwater and then itch his "backside" on the window right in front of you!! Gus was actually born at the Toledo Zoo!!!
The Children's Zoo of Central Park
Meant for slighly younger children than mine, but nonetheless we LOVED it! What a treasure NYC has!

The American Museum of National History:
This was the museum in the movie Night at the Museum! The boys ( and I) were so excited to be here and get to see the sites from the movie!! The outside looks exactly the same!!
A view looking down the street from the museum.
